Chaga is indeed a very powerful antioxidant; the bioactives responsible for the antioxidant action in Chaga are mainly found in the black outside of the fungus, the sclerotium.
This sclerotium contains massive amounts of the natural black pigment known as melanin, which has a high antioxidant potential.
